1.5 Kilometers through the calm waters of Lake Mission Viejo with full lifeguard support and comfortable wave sizes

 

BIKE

40 Kilometers up and down Santiago Canyon

QUESTIONS

Additional details will be emailed out to the participants race week and posted on website and social media.

The race is on May 22, 2022 with packet pick up and expo on May 21, 2022.

The Triathlon, Aquabike, 5K and Relay races start and finish at Lake Mission Viejo, 22555 Olympiad Rd, Mission Viejo, CA 92692.

The Duathlon starts at Transition 2 and finishes at Lake Mission Viejo, T2 is located caddy corner of the Saddleback Church Offices, 20532 El Toro Rd, Mission Viejo, CA 92692.

The Triathlon, Aquabike and Relay will start in waves with the first wave at 7:00am, the Duathlon will start at 7:30am, and the 5K will start at 8:00am

Wave starts are used to lessen the amount of participants in the water at the start.

Unless you purchased the VIP package or Race day Pickup, you must pick up your race gear and set up your T2 on Saturday May 21, 2022.

Race packet pick up location will be announced soon.

Race packet will include your transition wristband, race number, bike number, helmet number, silicone swim cap and timing chip.  You’ll also receive your souvenir sweatshirt and custom goodie (TBD).

The cut-off time for the swim is 8:30 am.  All participants must be on the bike by 8:40 am.

Every athlete that makes the swim cut-off will be allowed to finish, the course may divert to sidewalks towards the end of the event.

The water temp should be around  70° Fahrenheit / 21° Celsius.

It’s approximately 300′ from the swim exit to the transition area.

The Duathlon starts just outside of T2.

Yes, T1 will be open during the packet pick up and expo hours for setup.  Security will be onsite overnight to watch your gear.

No, participants will need to provide their own bike.

Total elevation gain for the bike is approximately 1738′.

Aid stations are at approximately mile 1.5, mile 3 and mile 4.5.  Each aid station will have a restroom.

The Bike course will have one aid station at the top of Santiago Canyon.

The 5K course will have one aid station.

Unfortunately no.  We do, however, offer deferrals up until April 22, 2022 for a $25.00 processing fee.  Please contact us at info@octriseries.com.
